You know the saying, "it's impossible not to know that you are carrying another life inside you when you are?" Well it has been 2 weeks and a day since I missed my period... and I knew I was pregnant from day one. I got married last December, and since then, we have been trying to get pregnant. It got frustrating and painful to never be successful after a lot of attempts, to the point that we didn't want to hope anymore. But when I missed my period, I knew. And I never told. Exactly two weeks after (ready for my test) I sneaked out of the house and got a PT kit. While my husband was at work, I confirmed the facts! I'm so happy! We are so happy! To surprise him, I glued my PT to his closet. So when he got home and was to change, he saw the results staring at him! I even took a video of his reaction. I'm so glad we finally conceived. But there is something that is really bothering me. My sister went through postpartum depression but not that long. I heard that this illness could really affect new mommies. I read an article that was really for menopause but they said that the medication could be used for postpartum depression (it's called natural hormone balance for women) Is anyone here familiar with natural hormone balance? -- link removed If you are, please let me know I hope to make lots of new friends here  Smile

wow! congrats! i know a lot of parents here are happy for you and your hubby..

anyway, postpartum depression from what i know is the emotion of females when they are having a baby.. papasok dyan yung pagiging super selosa ng mga female... dahil iniisip nila nde sila pinapansin ng mga asawa nila dahil lumalaki ilong nila.. tumataba.. malaki tyan.. and the sort.. pero iniisip lang nila un... tapos after giving birth.. mararamdaman din yan.. dahil nasa bahay ang babae.. tapos sila lang nag aalaga sa baby.. and then iyak pa ng iyak yun baby.. hehehe..  ask your OB regarding that... ieexplain nila sa inyo (meaning bring your husband with you) hehehe..

i have this friend.. after manganak ng asawa nya nagkaganyan.. tapos inaaway sya palagi hanggang sa nauwi sa hiwalayan.. i know this is not a good story.. pero we should learn from it.. value your relationship at wag mag isip ng kung ano ano that would affect  thinking and decision making... enjoy the baby and your hubby at the same time..

Congrats ulet!

congrats .... smile always

@ preggables

Hello! Congratulations to you!
Let me share with you that exactly a week ago (4th of July 2010) I gave birth to my 4th child.  She's 1 week now.
It's me who's going to undergo a "Post-Partum Depression".  It is after giving-birth that a mommy will undergo mood swings.  Emotions is very strong.  I have exprerienced that (for 4 times that I gave birth) every after giving-birth, I noticed that I am high blood (mabilis uminit ang ulo) so I will have to shout to express anger.  But that is not good for me, I might get sick.  Blood comes out from my vagina. I also notice that it's easy to cry, just seeing my newborn baby especially if you pity yourself and the baby. When the baby cries, you feel sad.
Most of those emotions were felt by me after giving birth that's why it is called "post-partum".  Try to research also in the internet about it. But as for me, after giving birth, a mommy feels pain physically. Muscle pain after pushing out the baby, bone aching because of the weight, veins and wrist are in pain due to the needles in which most nurses failed to see the correct veins wherein the IV should be put; Abdominal pains due to the blood left after giving-birth, nipples and breast are in pain due to breastfeeding, etc.
But never fear.  Do not worry about that.  The important thing to do now is to enjoy your new baby inside your womb.  Take care of it, listen to the advice of your OB. So that after giving-birth, for sure you will be experiencing the above pains but try to divert your attention.  Try to count your blessings.
Express love to the newborn baby by cuddling, breastfeeding, taking care of him/her, a special gift and blessing from the Good LORD.
Take vitamins and anti-biotic so you will be healed from pains of giving birth.  Try to talk to your hubby, nanny and other members of the family to cope up with you, and explain to them that you need to be understood.
Sooner, you will just never notice that the "Post-partum" is gone as the days go by of taking-care of your newborn baby.
We will just have to undergo that but for a while.  Just make a commitment, believe in yourself, have faith in GOD, show love instead of anger. Let your Maximum tolerance be out, be patient, take a deep breath, relax and enjoy!
This is the great life that GOD has given us, why not live and enjoy every moment of it!
Good Luck to you and GOD bless!

Cool
