I am a cartoon addict! hehehehehe
Since I was a little girl, my brother and sisters calls me CARTOON GIRL.
I loved watching any type of cartoons and especially anime (ubos na nga ang memory ko eh).

Since I love cartoons I watch it with my kids on television, computer or even on theaters.
(Minsan mauuna pa ako sa kanila.Tapos replay na lang ako with them.)

It's not a problem I don't see anything wrong of
watching cartoons, why only kids have the right
to watch cartoons adult also can.
at least you can bond with your children
just make it fun and enjoyable at the same time.

Steph.

Yes! not only kids adults can also watch cartoons. But only the important thing is that there should be a proper parental control over the kids so that they don;t watch or do any thing wrong for them. This would also help parents to know that what their kids are doing while they are on home or not. Nowadays, children are growing up with information at their fingertips, but many of the times and places they go on-line are not safe. Chat rooms can expose children to unpleasant ideas and leading to horrifying websites. As with all child safety precautions, it is best to work actively with children so they can learn how to navigate the world’s traps and tricks when they are on their own.

As for us, my wife and I try to limit tv-watching to the minimum possible time.  Our school kids would not have much problem with this policy as they are in school much of their waking hours.  In the evening, we encourage them to read or do their homework.

More challenging is our toddler because he can get bored during the day and tv is an easy solution (esp with the yayas watching him).  Still we try to limit tv time to 30min to 1 hr a day, mostly watching video tapes of educational program or Thomas, Barney, Blue's Clues.

Watching cartoon doesn't harm but there may be a limit of everything and should be under control.

As i am  having two kids and they not only watch cartoons but surfing on net i am worried about thier safety through net.
Then  One of my friend suggest me about Kidsemail service which helps me alot
Regarding kids safety from spam mails parental controls and many more features..
It really makes the parents tension free...

yes the big challenge in watching cartoons is at night. if we could just tell to cable networks such as disney channel, nickelodeon, cartoon network and others to stop broadcast when night time comes.

here's another thing. what do you think about SPONGEBOB? its cute and all, but the jokes and other stories in it are junk.  but kids really like it, they even know the time schedule.

Here's an interesting report of a study that looked into factors contributing to obesity in children and one of those associated is watching TV for more than 2 hrs.  You might want to check it out

It's interesting read as it points to parenting as a big factor in the obesity problem in kids.  Although it's more of a problem in the US, it can also happen in the Philippines.
