I got pregnant a year ago. When I had my first ultrasound as early as 6weeks, I was informed that I am carrying twins. Exciting! But as time goes by, my pregnancy became very risky that i am experiencing contractions as early as 4months. I have to stop from work. As expected, I will be giving birth early. My OB gave me all the medications I need to support my babies.
Unfortunately, the early delivery date that I was expecting became much earlier. I had contractions and its interval became every 5minutes. My husband rushed me to the hospital. The doctors tried to stop my contractions. Gave me a lot of medicines just to save my babies from being delivered early. After 3days in the labor room, the contractions became heavier even with magnesium sulfate administered. That's when my doctor told me, I am about to give birth.
I gave birth to my twins at 30weeks. They were so tiny. The first one is 1529 grams. The second is 1526grams. My mom and my husband were not able to take their pics because they need to be taken immediately to the Neonatal ICU. Nobody was allowed to see them except me.
When I first saw them, my tears keep falling. I was so joyful to become a new mom yet I am blaming myself for not bearing the pain of contractions a little longer. They were so small and a lot of gadgets were attached to them. It makes me more sad to see my babies suffer early. They have to stay in the hospital for 1 month. And during that period, I feel more depressed because I want to hold them but I cannot. I visit them almost everyday to see them and monitor their progress. I keep on calling the natologist about the development of my babies. Finally, at 1.9kgs and 1.8kgs, I was able to bring them home.
I informed our immediate family members not to tell our relatives that the babies are home already. I don't want to hear anything that they will say upon seeing the babies since they were very small. Not that I am not proud, it's just that I may not be able to control my emotions should I hear something that I will not like. I might get into a fight. My babies are premature...so What! They are my babies, God's gift to us!
We watched them grow and now that they are 6months old, we were happy to say that we have overcome those times.

hello mommy myrlyn!
congrats on the birth of your twins. i am so glad you guys pulled it thru. bilib nga ako sa inyo ni papa igan at kambal agad panganay ninyo. i often check on their pics sa friendster account mo. i am happy to see how big they've grown na. its a long way to go, as i am also new in this journey called parenting, pero super enjoy.the drama and the highs are sobrang enjoy. all worth it. alam mo naman yun at even our capwire days, feel na feel ko pagiging nanay to the core.
di ba natural lang daw sa mutiple births ang maging preemies sila? may cousins ako breach birth pa, 30 something weeks din but they grew up just as healthy and fabulous. i could just imagine your stress nga lang seeing your babies go thru all the pains at an early age. dont worry though, i am certain they will grow up just fine and healthy.
happy parenting myrlyn! congrats again and enjoy the parenting ride.

Hi Nylrym..
Congrats on your new bundle of joy..twins!
Dont worry about anything..hope nagpapabreastfeed ka po..
Dont worry also about your relatives, di naman cla magpapalaki ng mga bata db. So watever things they will say kung malaman man nila..labas mo lang sa kabilang ear mo sis. U have to be strong for your twins ok. In the first place, they dont need to comment naman. God's gift yan.
U know my friend, her two kids were only 6mos when she delivered her babies, pero alaga lang ng sobra..now they're 6 or 7yo na now pero super kulit and wala naman problem so far.
U just take care and ur babies. Ang intindihin mo lang sis ur family..u, ur babies and ur hubby ok? Mabilis naman lumaki ang babies ngaun..so dont worry..makikita mo na lang isang morning, hinihila ka na nila fr bed..hehehe..cheer up sis! Keep on praying.
God bless. Congrats again..
Oh by the way! mommy shan here..u can also call me mommy she or mommy shan..watever! hehehe.
